What a typical — and typically unhelpful — Philly.com comment. Citizens must object to corruption in public service, and condemn those who perpetrate it. To say that all public servants are equally corrupt amounts to claiming that there’s no distinction between them and, that it’s pointless to single out criminal acts like those alleged here. It’s a call to abandon our role as watchdogs over elected officials and merely grumble, resigned to the corruption. It’s a left-handed defense of corrupt officials. It’s wrong.
